Welcome to
Valley!
Some questions you
may have:
When are your
services and what can I expect?
Valley has two identical worship
services on Sundays at 8:30am and 10:30am
(during the summer, we go to
one service at 9:30am). We gather
together to sing songs, listen to a message and pray.
Our worship music style is modern and contemporary,
while the message is taught directly from God's Word.
In total, a service lasts about an hour and a half. When you first walk into our main
foyer, expect to be greeted warmly at the door. Our sincere hope is
that you'll feel welcome, at home and among friends.
What should I
wear? Dress
casually and comfortably. You'll see people wearing
everything from jeans and t-shirts or shorts and
flip-flops, to dresses and nice slacks. Come as you are.
What's available
for my kids?
We offer Sunday School
during 2nd service only,
but childcare for very young kids is available during both services.
During 2nd service, the kids start
the morning off with a time of worship in the Fellowship
Hall, after which they head off to their individual classes.
Valley also has a thriving Awana program
on Wednesday evenings at 6pm for ages preschool through
junior high (during the school year only).
What about
junior high and high school?
Both junior high (Solid Rock
Cafe') and high
school (Koinonia) meet as groups during second service
on Sunday (10:30am)
(during the summer the two groups meet at 9:30am). The high school worship
team leads a time of praise and worship for both
groups in the high school classroom. Koinonia
High School also meets Thursday evenings at 6:30pm.
How do I get to
know people and get connected at the church?
The best way
to get to know people is to spend time with them, and
while the time before and after church on Sunday
certainly offers opportunities to meet and make new
friends, it really takes more than
that to get to know someone. This is why Valley places a
special emphasis on
home groups. These
are smaller groups of people who meet throughout the
week in private homes (some meet at the church campus) to build friendships, spend time in the
Word, and to encourage and pray for one another.
In addition, there are many different
ministries
at Valley that offer opportunities to get connected and
involved.
Everything from Sunday School, Awana and Vacation Bible
School, to greeters, deacons, prayer teams, worship team and
S.O.U.P. Kitchen - - all of these and many more provide
opportunites
to serve, get connected, and develop lasting
relationships.
